The Friendly View

Yes, this morning Ralph Nader announced that he is running in the 2008 elections as an independent.  This will be his third run.  Nader is currently unhappy with the democrats and the republicans.

Nader, 73, said most people are disenchanted with the Democratic and Republican parties due to a prolonged Iraq war and a shaky economy. The consumer advocate also blamed tax and other corporate-friendly policies under the Bush administration that he said have left many lower- and middle-class people in debt.

This being the third time in the elections this effect on the outcome is very predictable.  He will be taking votes from the Democrates.  So this announcement comes as hit to the Dems and a boost the Republicans. 

 I am not really sure why after two previous attempt and publication of his message is Nader once again out there running.  I guess there always has to be an alternative for the people that don’t want to go with the main stream.  His points are well made and may be true. However, he is not going to be our Commander and Chief.

Standing in line this week at the grocery store (very exciting)…. I was doing what we all do and reading over all the quality literature in the magazine racks.  I started to notice a trend in the stories.  Forgive me, I am not up on my latest celeb gossip, but it seems that it you are the anybody in the world of celebritism these days are supporting a candidate.  Both with name and financially.  This not talked about in detail in Time magazine or on talk radio much, so I went straight to the source….  People magazine.  I found a great article and a Obama u-tube video packed full of celebrity power.  I am aware there is a small group of celebrities that are politically active, but I believe this has become the latest and greatest in the celebrity world.

We have all witnessed President Clinton’s renewed beam of joy as he has reentered the spot light with Hillary.  I also think most of us have noticed that he is out of control, too.  He has made many wild statements… is he for Hillary or for himself I have wondered on several occasions.

Today on foxnews.com I was reading an article where again he was talking just to hear the sound of his voice.  Here is a quote from the article:

Former President George H.W. Bush is taking issue with statements made by Bill Clinton Monday that the duo would embark on a mission of diplomacy around the world if his wife is elected president.

Clinton reportedly made the statements in South Carolina, saying he and Bush would spread the message that “America is open for business and cooperation again,” implying that the former president would need to swoop in to repair diplomatic damage wrought by his son.
